Off the coast of northeastern Taiwan, near Bitou, we are collecting living benthic foraminifera and seawater samples seasonally to determine if seasonal variations in coastal conditions are being recorded in the tests of the benthic foraminifera, and if the assemblage of species is varying depending on the seasons. This project is part of a larger monitoring effort at the Bitou station to investigate ecosystem variability.
